The Ultimate List of 100+ Wedding Venues in Northern Ireland

Looking for the perfect wedding venue in Northern Ireland? I got you.

Hi, I’m Tiffany, a modern wedding photographer, and I’ve put this extensive list of venues together for you. Ireland and Northern Ireland are lucky enough to be home to some of the most incredible wedding venues in Europe.

From luxury and castle estates to the unique and unusual, from stunning hotels to cute, intimate venues. This list of 100+ wedding venues covers every glamorous location for 2024 and 2025 weddings in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

Deciding on what is right for you can be understandably daunting to those just beginning their search for a location, but if there is anyone who can help you, it’s a photographer. Photographers know best when it comes to scenic backgrounds and touches of elegance, lighting, style, and theme. As a wedding photographer who has spent years in this business refining my craft, I put together this blog so that everything you’re looking for is in the one place.

Luxury Wedding Venues

Luxury venues offer a large scope. You’ll likely enjoy the entire estate to yourself, to explore the nature, elegance, and beauty these venues have to offer. Explore stunning old buildings, roam through beautiful private gardens with red brick walls, well-kept grass and trimmed trees, stop for photos in greenhouses or walks around lakes.

In my time doing weddings at luxury estates, one of my favourites to date has been Larchfield Estate. The incredible gardens of Larchfield are home to a huge walk-in greenhouse roped with fairy lights which makes for a stunning photo. You can have your speeches in the courtyard and then watch the sunset in the garden with your guests. Reaching a huge 600 acres, this estate has so much scope, so no matter your plans for your big day, there is plenty of space to have the wedding of your dreams. View a real Larchfield wedding by me here!

Another good choice is Montalto. Montalto is a private house and wedding room with views to the courtyard, stunning luxury food and a more country feel than others. It has a private lake and a caddy to drive you around and get some photos! Enjoy the trail walks whilst admiring the preserved history of this venue in all its glory, and settle with your guests to watch the sunset over the lake as the day goes on.

Luxury estates are a great choice for those looking for stunning scenery, the option of an outdoor wedding, walled gardens with incredible scents, and an overall elegance to their day. Take some time to explore what Ireland and Northern Ireland have to offer by checking out some other fantastic options, such as Drenagh Estate, Ballyscullion Park, Culloden Estate and Spa, and Clandeboye Estate and Courtyard.

Castle Estate Wedding Venues in NI and Ireland

Castle Estates are another potential route to go down for couples who are looking to have a big wedding, with large grounds, grand buildings, courtyards, ballrooms, and an overall special, almost fairy tale feel.

Lissanoure offers a choice of a barn, a coach house, or the sprawling castle grounds for your wedding, complete with log fires, exposed brick, a stunning courtyard, farm animals, and a large capacity. There is so much scope for incredible images, and with the venue all to yourself for your big day, who wouldn’t feel like a prince or a princess for a day!

Another special venue to note is Galgorm Castle. Galgorm is a luxury castle with beautiful green grounds which are a lovely backdrop for photos. The venue is renowned for its incredible service and scenery. It offers several options for your wedding, from outdoors inside the walled gardens, to huge rooms, to marquees. With so much to choose from, it might be a difficult decision, but rest assured that if you are choosing Galgorm, your wedding will be undoubtedly magical.

There is a long list of amazing castle venues across Ireland and Northern Ireland, we are spoiled for choice. To make the search that little bit easier, check out some of my favourites to find your perfect match! Unique and Unusual Wedding Venues

If luxury estates and castles don’t sound like they’d be right for you, maybe you are looking for something a little more unique and unusual as the setting for your big day. These types of venues offer something different, making for more fun and quirky photography. They are an absolute joy to explore for you and your guests, with lots to discover. Whilst it has long been the norm to return to the same hotel for every wedding in the family, we are beginning to break that tradition, and are pushing the boat out a bit to make room for these new, exciting venues. Again, they offer so much potential for couples, you really will find somewhere for everyone.

A boathouse, a barn and a tin chapel are the stunning options at the amazing Mount Druid. An incredible alternative wedding venue, Mount Druid spans 100 acres, has onsite huts and quirky houses to stay in, and sets the scene for the perfect boho, relaxed, documentary-style wedding photography that has become so popular in recent years. The tin chapel dons hundreds of origami birds, the barn serves up delicious country food, and cacti and other plants surround the dining room. With dramatic lighting opportunities and little hidden spaces, Mount Druid is the perfect setting for a wedding gallery you can marvel at.

The Old Rectory in Killyman is a one-of-a-kind venue for couples looking for a unique wedding. The stunning estate has been refurbished but is still rich in 18th-century history. It has a barn for those looking for a rustic wedding, and large grounds to explore and take in. Again, a great venue with amazing opportunities for some really special photographs, and for a day you will never forget.

We are not short of such venues across Ireland and Northern Ireland, others of which include The Wool Tower, Breckenhill Barn, Finnebrogue Woods, Mussenden Temple, Dark Hedges Estate, The Ulster Hall, Queen’s film theatre, Tempo Manor, Crom Castle, Old Court Chapel, Riverdale Barn, Ballydugan Mill, The Tap Room at Hilden Brewery, Cultra Manor Ulster Folk & Transport Museum, Field of Dreams, Rowallane Gardens, and Lime Park Arts & Cottages. You can also hire a field, and then look into Magnakata tepee hire, or Maverick Marquees to add an extra boho and personal vibe to your day. The possibilities really are endless, and the options are so vast that it can be incredibly daunting, but hopefully this list helps you start (and finish!) your search.

Intimate and Small Wedding Venues

If you are aiming for a smaller wedding with fewer guests, you might want to check out some of the more intimate venues on offer. These are often a good choice for small weddings because your party might seem a little lost in a bigger venue like a castle or luxury estate. They are the perfect size for a small guest list, fitting snugly into rooms and ultimately making the day more hyper-focused on you and your partner, celebrating with those closest to you. They are often the more romantic option, as you revel in the closeness, take in the atmosphere, and really process your feelings on what can sometimes be an overwhelming day.

Tullyveery House is an exclusive and private wedding venue, situated in the rolling hills of County Down, overlooking the Mourne Mountains. It is a blank canvas, allowing you to choose your preferred suppliers and create your dream vibe for your wedding. Enjoy your bespoke day at this stunning Georgian house and surrounding grounds with your closest friends and family.

Discover the charm of Kilmore Country House, another top pick for your intimate wedding. Boutique guesthouses, open fires, and a truly friendly and welcoming vibe, Kilmore Country House offers another incredible space for your day. The venue will tailor everything to suit your vision, providing all of your catering, and capable of accommodating both small and large guestlists. The backdrop is stunning, the atmosphere is amazing, and the venue is so versatile, making Kilmore a perfect option for the intimate wedding of your dreams.

Intimate and small weddings are common, but the trials and changes of 2020 have caused a surge in interest in these venues, especially as for a lot of people, it was there only option if they wanted to get married this year. Micro weddings have become incredibly popular off the back of guestlist restrictions, and the positive feedback across the globe from these types od weddings has caused people to reconsider their initial big wedding option, in favour of something more intimate and romantic.
