Intimate winter micro wedding in Northern Ireland

Is it just me or does it feel like Spring is in the air? Maybe today’s lovely real wedding full of soft colours is just giving me those ‘new dawn, new day’ vibes. It was a crisp December morning in County Down, Northern Ireland, for Katie and Ryans wedding. I loved capturing the magic during their day as their wedding photographer!

Top ideas for intimate weddings:

  • Have an afternoon ceremony
  • Include Sparklers or Confetti
  • Make time for sunset portratis with your photographer

Katie and Ryan used to play with each other as they lived only a few houses apart growing up. How cute! Years later they ended up dating and the rest as they say ‘is history’.

With only small numbers of guests allowed, and no venues open on their wedding day, this intimate event was so much more special. Family and friends arrived to celebrate with them, giving them a fantastic sparkler send off. This dancing flower girl and Katie’s cute little niece had the best day ever too!

After the ceremony, which was in the later afternoon, the newly weds and I headed off to a secret little viewpoint above the city. It was there we were able to see Belfast from afar and capture some lovely golden tone sunset images.

Check out their engagement shoot here, it’s also pretty stunning 💕
