Hillsborough Castle Gardens

If you’re seeking that refined, luxury look, Hillsborough Castle Gardens should absolutely be on your shortlist. This is one of Northern Ireland’s most elegant estates, about 20 minutes from Belfast, set in 100 acres of beautifully maintained gardens, woodlands, glens, and waterways. Entry fee required.

Royal Hillsborough Village

  • It’s ideal for editorial or classical style photography — you’ll feel like you’re walking through timeless grandeur rather than a typical garden path.

City Chic at Belfast City Hall — Romance in the Heart of the Hustle

Belfast City Center
  • City Hall Grounds: Grand architecture and elegant stone columns make it a timeless backdrop, perfect for couples wanting that classic, city-romance feel. Think the hustle and bustle of crossing busy streets, laughter between passing cars, and stolen moments in the middle of it all.

  • Linen Hall Library in the heart of Belfast city centre. With its vintage charm, wooden shelves, and cosy atmosphere, it’s perfect for book-loving couples who want a quintessential, old-world vibe for their shoot — think quiet corners, soft light, and moments that feel straight out of a classic love story. Hot chocolate to follow at Dasies or cocktails at the newly renovated Margo across the road which you can now reserve tables.
  • Botanic Gardens offers a beautifully romantic setting right in the city. Inside the white glasshouse, you’ll find lush tropical foliage that looks vibrant all year round — perfect for soft, dreamy portraits. The gardens outside are just as lovely, with winding paths and seasonal blooms that add a touch of natural romance to your photos.

Planning a Magical Surprise Proposal in Northern Ireland with Professional Photography

Planning a surprise proposal in Northern Ireland with Tiffany Gage Photography is a magical experience. Locations like Dunseverick Castle Ruins are ideal — a quiet, secluded spot with a little mound that offers breathtaking views, perfect for that intimate “pop the question” moment. Early mornings, evenings, or even winter months are best for privacy (not many others about, often have the spot to yourself) and soft, romantic light.

Secluded corners of the beach also work beautifully, allowing your photographer to stay undercover — perhaps reading a book nearby — while capturing the moment from a distance. Once the proposal has happened and the excitement settles, Tiffany can step in to photograph a relaxed couple session, giving you beautiful images of both the surprise and your first moments together as fiancés.
