That’s the vibe. And that’s exactly what this incredible couple from Mississippi decided to do. Instead of the stress of seating charts, big expectations, or indoor lighting, they chose wild cliffs, ancient castle ruins, and a Causeway Coast sunset that looked like it was custom-ordered from the heavens.

They eloped to Northern Ireland—and it was nothing short of magic. As an Elopement Photographer in Northern Ireland, I get to help couples like this create a day that’s all about them. No pressure. No audience. Just the two of them, a few incredible locations, and a whole lot of heart. We planned this together within three weeks!

“I could see my husband waiting for me at the end of the grassy path aisle, with the celebrant, Sam, standing just in front of the ruins. The walk toward him felt slow in the best way, like the whole world had paused to let us just be present. No noise, no guests—just the two of us, wrapped up in something ancient and incredibly personal.”

Wild Vows & That Just Married Glow: Luxury Elopement along the Causeway Coast

We started their luxurious elopement wedding experience at Kinbane Castle—one of my favourite places on Earth (and trust me, I’ve scouted a lot of cliffs). Perched on the edge of the coast with sweeping views and a cinematic sense of history, it felt like stepping into a dream. The wind tugged at her veil, the waves crashed below, and they promised forever with the sea as their witness.

But they didn’t stop there. Because when you elope in Northern Ireland, you don’t have to pick just one location. These two wanted it all—so we hit Dunseverick Castle, White Park Bay, and more tucked-away gems along the Causeway Coast. Each stop gave us something new: dramatic cliffs, soft sandy beaches, wide-open skies, and of course, that perfect sunset elopement glow. Every image from their gallery whispers we eloped in Ireland—and screams freedom. It’s romantic. It’s raw. It’s real.

And that’s the thing about elopements in Ireland: they’re endlessly customisable. Whether you want a chic elopement in designer heels or you’re barefoot on a beach with windblown hair, the possibilities are limitless. Want a ceremony at ancient castle ruins followed by champagne on the cliffs? Let’s do it. Want to hike to a hidden waterfall and read vows in secret? I’ll pack snacks and my flask of tea.

Americans eloping to Ireland often come for the stunning views, but they stay for the feeling. The feeling of escape, of intimacy, of truly being present. It’s not just about photos—it’s about experience. The people are so friendly in Ireland, sometimes at the pub they even pay for your newly wed drinks, just as a kind gesture.

As your Elopement Photographer Ireland, I’m not just snapping shots—I’m curating a journey. From scouting locations like Kinbane Castle, Dunseverick Castle, and White Park Bay, to building timelines around the best light, to making sure your flowers survive the wind—I’ve got you. This couple’s story is a reminder that you don’t need a ballroom to feel like royalty. Sometimes, all you need is a cliffside, a big bouquet, and the person you love most in the world- and a photographer with all the knowledge.

“The ceremony itself was everything I had hoped for. We chose hand-fasting as part of our vows, and I didn’t expect to get as emotional as I did. It’s a Celtic tradition where ribbons are tied around your hands to symbolise the binding of your lives together—your past, your present, and your future. As Sam wrapped the ribbons around our joined hands and spoke the words, I felt this overwhelming wave of love and calm. We weren’t just saying we were in this together—we were becoming something new. It felt like a physical representation of everything we’d been through and everything we were stepping into.”

It was powerful. Ancient. Sacred.

Kinbane Castle Ruins & Sunset Vows

The ceremony itself was incredibly moving, thanks to the wonderful Sam Hanna, who is hands-down one of my favourite elopement celebrants to work with. When you’re planning an elopement, it really matters who conducts your ceremony. You want something beautiful and emotional—you want to feel it, cry those happy tears, and soak up every moment. And that only happens when your celebrant knows how to hold space for it. Sam absolutely does. He’s not just professional—he genuinely loves what he does. From guiding the handfasting, to the traditional cup ritual, to helping couples settle into their vows with confidence, Sam knows exactly where to stand, what to say, and how to make the ceremony flow seamlessly. Every time I work with him, I know my couples are in the best hands.

The flowers for this elopement were something else—a true showstopper that pulled everything together. Designed by the incredibly talented team at The Fig Design Co., the bouquet wasn’t just beautiful, it was bold. For elopements like this—where the couple is surrounded by sweeping cliffs, crashing waves, and wild open skies—a small bouquet simply gets lost. But this one? It popped against the dramatic landscape. It was a statement bouquet in every sense: full, luxurious, and clearly crafted with the most premium, high-end blooms. You could tell instantly that every flower had been carefully chosen for texture, colour, and elegance. It added a softness to the rugged scenery and elevated the entire look, effortlessly blending romance with luxury.

“We ended the day with one of the cutest experiences ever—pulling our own pints of Guinness at the Bushmills Inn. It was this cozy little pub in the heart of a quiet village, with a crackling fire (yes, even in the summer!) and all the rustic charm you’d dream of in a traditional Irish setting.
The bar manager was the kindest man—he didn’t just serve us a drink, he taught us how to pour it properly. Turns out, there’s a real technique to pouring a perfect Guinness (who knew?!), and he walked us through it like we were locals. It was such a fun, relaxed moment after all the emotion of the day—just the two of us, still glowing from our ceremony, learning something new together, and laughing through the whole thing.
Sipping our first pint as husband and wife by the fireplace in that little pub felt like something out of a movie. It was so simple and joyful, but incredibly special. I didn’t realize until then how important it is to drink Guinness in Ireland—apparently, it doesn’t travel well, and the taste here is totally different. And honestly? They’re not lying. It was the best pint I’ve ever had.
That moment—just the two of us, toasting with perfect pints in a little Irish village—was the cherry on top of the most unforgettable elopement day.”
